Présent

Using parler (to speak), we can see how the -er verbs are conjugated in the present tense:

jeparleI speak; I do speak; I am speaking.
tuparlesYou speak; You do speak; You are speaking.
il/elleparleS/he speaks; S/he does speak; S/he is speaking.
onparleOne speaks; One does speak; One is speaking.
nousparlonsWe speak; We do speak; We are speaking.

Note: Vous is the formal second-person address. Vous also is used for second-person groups, whether the address is familiar or polite.

The verb aller (to go) is the only -er verb that is irregular. It inclues both an 'a' group and a 'v' group:

Regular -re verbs, such as attendre (to wait), are conjugated in the present tense as follows:

Être (to be), is a common -re verb. The present tense is irregular. It includes both an 's' group and an 'e' group:

Regular -ir verbs, such as choisir (to choose), are conjugated in the present tense as follows:

Avoir (to have), is a common -ir verb. The present tense is irregular, and the plural third-person ont does not start with an 'a':
